Robotic Process Automation: Rebot & Retransform
Rebot is RPA in motion. If you are fascinated by the thought of having tasks automated so that you can concentrate on business activities to achieve greater results, Rebot will interest you. Here’s how we do it at Retransform
First, what is RPA?
RPA stands for Robotic Process Automation, which essentially means automating manual and repetitive tasks.
We put RPA in motion with Rebot. For one particular function of assembling a group of financial statements, this solution has saved us 90 minutes of internal manual work time, allowing us to better serve the needs of our client.
With this Financial Reporting Package Generation, before Rebot, the 8-step manual process required nearly an hour and a half between calculations, modifications and back-and-forth email correspondence:
- Review books of accounts for completeness
- Download report from the property management/ accounting system
- Modify the reports to conform to customer specifications
- Repeat the process to add additional properties
- Prepare the consolidated financial package
- Create summary snapshots
- Check the summary snapshots and consolidated financial packages and email them
- Save documents to the document management system
How did we automate and reduce the workload, saving 81 minutes of precious work time?
Step 1:
Identifying the portions of this process that could be automated - We started with mapping parts of the workflow that could be automated.
Step 2:
Creating Rebot - We then used RPA to create Rebot, our robotic solution.
Step 3:
Quality assessment - After creation of the bot scripts, Rebot was thoroughly tested.
The result?
Manual work has been reduced to just 8 minutes, while RPA takes only 1 minute to complete the automated task, bringing the total work time down from 90 minutes to just 9 minutes!
RPA mimics human actions, performing otherwise mundane tasks and giving you more time to improve employee efficiency. It provides an opportunity to engage your employees in other projects that give them a greater sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. This will not only save you time and money but keep employees motivated, thereby, improving overall productivity.
